Catherine is an established indie film star and also a studio artist who grew up just outside of Philly and would travel often to NYC from a young age, moving full-time to NYC after graduating high school. She majored in Theatre Performance and minored in Fine Art. Early on in her acting career, she starred in a feature film that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and she recently received a nomination for “Best Actress” for “Long Lost.” When not on set, she can often be found in her garden with her pup, Luna. Sister Julia St. John Corcoran S. N. D. (Catherine Bridget Corcoran) , died peacefully at the Notre Dame long term Care Center in Worcester on Thursday, November 16, 2017. She was born in Lynn, MA to Michael and Margaret (Gilbane) Corcoran both of Ireland on October 8, 1927 and was raised in Lynn before entering the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur on August 5, 1946. She made her first vows on January 30, 1949 and her final vows on July 30, 1954. Sister received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Emmanuel College and Masters in Education from Salem State University. During her years of ministry as a Sister of Notre Dame, Julia served in East Boston, Waltham, Marblehead, Peabody, Shrewsbury, Woburn, Danvers, Tyngsboro, Lawrence and Somerville. Sister was also a licensed practical Nurse which she used at St Julie Billiard Residential Care Home in Ipswich for many years. She was one of thirteen children of the Corcoran family of Lynn that included her surviving siblings Mary Bongiorno, Eileen Queena, and Joan Barceleau. She was predeceased by her siblings, Margaret Minichiello, Genevieve Doucette, and Ann , Robert, Francis, Joseph, Michael, Dominic and John Corcoran. She also leaves several nieces and nephews as well as her Sisters of the Notre Dame de Namur order.
